About Us - HM Dish Delights
Welcome to HM Dish Delights, where every recipe tells a story and every dish is crafted with love, tradition, and passion!
My Culinary Journey
Hello, food lovers! I’m the creator behind HM Dish Delights, and I’m thrilled to share my culinary adventures with you. My journey in the kitchen began not with formal training or culinary school, but with the most precious teacher of all – my grandmother’s kitchen.
Growing up in a traditional Indian household, the kitchen was the heart of our home. The aromatic spices dancing in hot oil, the sound of the pressure cooker’s whistle announcing that dal was ready, and the sight of my grandmother’s weathered hands kneading dough with such precision – these memories form the foundation of my cooking passion.
From Childhood Wonder to Kitchen Confidence
As a child, I was fascinated by how simple ingredients could transform into magical dishes. I would sit cross-legged on the kitchen floor, watching my mother and grandmother work their culinary magic. They never measured anything – it was all about “andaaza” (intuition), a pinch of this, a handful of that, and somehow it always turned out perfect.
When I moved away from home for studies, I realized I had taken those flavors for granted. The bland hostel food made me homesick, not just for my family, but for the taste of home-cooked meals. That’s when I first picked up a ladle and attempted to recreate my grandmother’s simple yet flavorful dal.
It was a disaster! But instead of discouraging me, it ignited a fire within me to learn, experiment, and master the art of cooking.
The Birth of HM Dish Delights
After years of experimenting, collecting family recipes, and adding my own modern twists to traditional dishes, friends and family constantly encouraged me to share my recipes. “You should start a blog!” they said. And that’s how HM Dish Delights was born.
This platform is my way of preserving family traditions while making them accessible to busy modern kitchens. Every recipe here has been tested multiple times in my own kitchen, photographed with natural light (often racing against the sun!), and written with detailed instructions so that even beginners can recreate restaurant-quality dishes at home.
